‘The Road to Wembley’ Football Tournament

On the morning of Friday 5th December we took a boys and girls football team over to the Redlands 3G pitches for an exciting football tournament where the winners would take their first step towards a National Finals at Wembley. Both our teams (pictured) excelled at the tournament playing some excellent football and were really unlucky not to progress beyond the group stages. The boys team came away with 1 win, 2 narrow losses and two draws - the negative results were decided by very unfortunate moments which did reflect the standard of the football on display. On another day it really could have been their tournament for the taking. The girls team came away with 5 narrow losses, but got stronger and stronger with every game. Indeed, if there had been any more games to play, I'm sure their first victory was in sight. A massive well done to everybody - You made me feel very proud through the way you conducted yourselves throughout the tournament.
